Projects : Completed Major projects2009 SKANDIA SAIL FOR GOLD REGATTAMatchtight worked with the Royal Yachting Association to deliver the media services at this event and to develop event-related PR and publicity with special emphasis on expanding local awareness and increased spectator numbers on finals day to over 1000.BRITISH OLYMPIC ASSOCIATION:Matchtight were appointed to research, write and edit the sports and athlete biography sections of the British Team Handbook for the 2008 Olympic in Beijing. Matchtight provided the BOA with professional news staff to manage and run their own news service team for the first time at the 2008 Olympics.2005 WORLD CUP ROWING / 2006 WORLD ROWING CHAMPIONSHIP:Provided the organisation with comprehensive PR and media services, including planning & logistics.THE BOAT RACE (OXFORD V CAMBRIDGE):Provided the organisation with comprehensive PR, press office and media services, bringing the event into the modern era of major event media provision.SPORT ENGLAND (SOUTH WEST):A public relations programme publicising and communicating the strategies of Sport England South West including running branding and flag signing events throughout the southwest in support of the London 2012 Olympic Bid.2002 COMMONWEALTH GAMES:To plan, specify, staff and manage all media facilities and services for all 2800 written, photographic and non-rights holding broadcast media attending the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester. UNIVERSITY OF BATH: In 2003 Matchtight provided temporary PR/Media support for 15 months for the whole University, while it undertook a review of all PR and media activities.SYDNEY OLYMPIC ORGANISING COMMITTEE:The Company provided over 60,000 words on a variety of Olympic sports for the event programmes in Sydney.BADMINTON ASSOCIATION OF ENGLAND:Matchtight provided a media relations and event press office management service incorporating four national championships and at five All England Championships plus press services for the 1993 world championships.BRITISH OLYMPIC ASSOCIATION:Matchtight was appointed to the British team press office for the 2000 Olympic Games.BRITISH BOB SKELETON ASSOCIATION:Undertook all of this governing body's media relations for the six months leading into and including the 2002 Olympic Games, assisting, in particular, Alex Coomber.THE INTERNATIONAL OLYMPIC COMMITTEE AND BRASSEY'S SPORTS:Edited and compiled the IOC's 500-page official guide to the Atlanta Games: '1996 Official Olympic Companion: 1996 Atlanta Edition' and to the Nagano 1998 Olympic Winter Games.UK SPORT:Matchtight was retained to run the media, marketing and sponsorship support services for the 2000 World Youth Netball Championships in Cardiff.1995 EUROPEAN JUDO CHAMPIONSHIPS & 1999 WORLD JUDO CHAMPIONSHIPS:Matchtight provided all media centre operations, media relations and general accreditation services for the event. Matchtight provided all press centre services for these championships.BRITISH CANOE UNION:Matchtight provide all event media operations and relations services relating to the 2001 World Canoe Marathon Championships. Matchtight also delivered a strategic public relations programme during the build-up to the 2008 Olympic Games.VISIT BLACKPOOL:Matchtight delivered the PR and media services for the English Masters 2008 beach volleyball event, part of the Nestea European tour at Blackpool.DOOSPORT.COM:Matchtight worked with doosport.com, the brainchild of Gabby and Kenny Logan to create material as well as PR and to handle the pilot launch of this innovative sports community website.THE ALL ENGLAND NETBALL ASSOCIATION:Matchtight were briefed to achieve publicity for the sport at local, regional and national level against a series of PR 'messages'. This project included the World Netball Championships in 1995 and press offices at a series of international matches. Matchtight edited the AENA's quarterly magazine.ROYAL BRITISH LEGION:Publicity services and event press office delivery for Challenge '99 - an international multi-sport event for disabled ex-servicemen and women.BUSA:Pre-event publicity services and event press office delivery for the British team competing at the 1999 World Student Games in Majorca.1997 WORLD TABLE TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS:Matchtight provided a complete PR and press-office service for this event in Manchester.EURO '96:Matchtight was asked by the FA's media operations contractors to run the flagship media centre at Wembley as well as managing the overall Wembley accreditation service during the 1996 European Football Championships and to provide overall guidance and advice on media operations for the complete event. 3,500 media representatives were accredited for this event.LOTTERY SPORTS FUND:November '94 - June '95. Matchtight worked with the, then, Sports Council to launch the Lottery Sports Fund to the media, to organise and publicise the first, second and third wave of Lottery Awards to sports projects and to achieve good national and regional media profile for the benefits which the lottery is bringing to sport. Once this groundwork was done and a pattern established the daily work reverted in-house except for special projects such as the revenue launch in 1997. Matchtight has since provided media training to key lottery officers.TOPPER INTERNATIONAL:Managed a successful international status and PR campaign for one of the UK's largest boat builders.CREWSAVER:Handled the marketing and PR for this company's range of products. |
